Peter Kay's spoof Channel 4 reality show was a monster hit winning 5.5m viewers - the station's highest audience of the year.
Britain's Got The Pop Factor And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Strictly On Ice even beat the Big Brother final and launch night which were seen by 5.1m and 5.2m.
It also beat ITV1's hit drama Heartbeat which could only manage 5.32m.
The comedian is also being tipped as a possible chart topper with the release of his spoof reality show character Geraldine's single.
The Winner's Song performed by Kay as a transsexual dinner lady was penned by Kay and Take That's Gary Barlow.
Kay hit the top in 2005 when he mimed to Tony Christie's Is This The Way To Amarillo? to raise money for Comic Relief.
