As her character Mel bids a sad farewell to Emmerdale and baby Arthur, Caroline Strong revealed how she didn't let her draining storylines get to her.

"I try to put it to bed immediately. The minute it's over, a nice cup of tea and a joke please," she said.

"I can't carry it around with me because I find you go mad, especially when doing something like that, so I try to get back to normality quickly."
