EastEnders soapbox

What do you think about EastEnders? Is a sexual abuse story going too far? We'll broadcast a selection of texts.

I'm pleased EE is going to tackle such a sensitive subject and I applaud their attempt at making people see it happens in the real world. Sarah, Manchester

Text new 'Enders number 07797 801614, including name and town (25p per 160-char text, plus tariff. Used on merit), or e-mail eastenders@teletext.co.uk.

Sexual abuse of a minor is not suitable content for a pre-watershed programme. I urge people to lodge complaints with the BBC. Trudy, Luton

The abuse story is an excellent idea. If just one person who has been abused in this horrendous way speaks out then in my eyes it's a person saved from what can be a repeated and prolonged cycle of despicable crime. Lou, Newcastle

Soaps do a great job in portraying what some might say are controversial storylines. Sadly, these awful things happen in real life, so if the Whitney storyline is handled carefully it will be a good thing. Joanne, North Shields

EE really is miserable. Didn't they learn from the burial? June, Croydon

I am loving Big Brother for the first time. With hardly any mention of it on TV or radio, I can ignore it until it goes away. Marcus, Hereford
