Serena WilliamsSerena Williams clinched her third Wimbledon singles title with a 7-6 6-2 victory against older sister Venus.
Venus had two break points in the eighth game of the first set but mishit a backhand return and then wasted a forehand with the court wide open.
Serena took the first set 7-3 on a tie-break with a baseline lob, and broke with a double fault at 3-2 up, before winning with her fourth match point.
Williams went for brokeSerena Williams felt she had "nothing to lose" after defeating sister Venus in straight sets to claim the singles title at Wimbledon for the third time.
Serena secured a 7-6 6-2 victory in a match lasting one hour and 27 minutes.
She said: "I just thought I would go out there and do my best and I was really excited when I won that first set. Then I wanted to stay calm and didn't want to get too pumped."

Venus, who had not a lost a set at SW19 since the third round in 2007, said: "I tried my best but she played so well, really lifted her game.
"I have no complaints. She played great, especially in the tie-break, just played a lot of great shots."
