Dementieva into last four
Elena Dementieva took the honours in the all-Russian quarter-final against Nadia Petrova in the Kremlin Cup to set up a semi-final with Jelena Jankovic.
Third-seeded Dementieva held her nerve in the deciding set tie-break to claim a hard-fought contest 6-4 4-6 7-6 (8-6) after two hours and 45 minutes.
Serbian top seed Jankovic continued her fine run of form, defeating Italian Flavia Pennetta 7-6 (8-6) 6-3.
