EQUESTRIAN: Whitaker clinches prize
Ellen Whitaker and her 17-year-old veteran Kanselier produced a scorching round at in Birmingham to win the Zinc Management Speed Horse of the Year.
Whitaker took the £3,380 first prize by 1.71secs from Laura Renwick on Beluga, with Ireland's Cian O'Connor three seconds away in third on Baloufina.
Whitaker,22, said: "I have had Kanselier since I was 15. I have no plans to retire him."
Britain claim team second
Great Britain finished behind Germany in second place in the CCI Three-Star Dutch Horse Trials Championships.
The British team moved ahead of Australia after Polly Stockton claimed third place on Regulus and William Fox-Pitt was sixth on Navigator.
World champion Zara Phillips, who was riding as an individual, had a rollercoster time on Tallyho Sambucca and finished down in 31st position.
