Rain delays Reade's bid
BMX favourite Shanaze Reade will have to wait 24 hours before she gets her shot at a gold medal.
Heavy rain meant the track in Laoshan, south-west Beijing, was too dangerous to use so the 19-year-old double world champion will now go in the second semi-final at 2.30am BST on Friday.
Reade fell in her first seeding run on Thursday but recovered to post the second quickest time in qualifying.

Lynch said: "I'm shattered to be missing the final. I have done nothing wrong and have nothing to hide."
ABA suspend Saunders
Boxer Billy Joe Saunders has been suspended by the ABA pending a hearing after allegations of lewd behaviour during a pre-Games training camp.
The 18-year-old, who was beaten in the welterweight second round last week, flew home to find a letter waiting for him from the governing body.
A BOA spokesman said: "We can confirm he has received a letter from the ABA suspending him pending a hearing."
Edwards disillusioned
Coach Terry Edwards is "extremely disillusioned" by the allegations made against GB boxer Billy Joe Saunders.
Saunders has been suspended by the ABA for alleged lewd behaviour at a pre- Games camp, and Edwards questioned the timing ahead of the semi-finals.
Edwards said: "I am sad that this has been raised to distract and unsettle my boxers ahead of the most important bouts of their lives."

None of the 36-strong field managed a clear round and five failed to finish after being unseated by their horses.
The gold medal went to Russian Andrey Moiseev, with Lithuanian pair Edvinas Krungolcas and Andrejus Zacneprovski taking silver and bronze.
