Re: Kevin, Glasgow. You're probably right, those fighters would have knocked out a washed-up Jones. Try watching the fight again, I reckon Joe carried him over the last two rounds, maybe more. Dave, Cornwall

Hatton has a great welterweight fighter in Malignaggi up against him. Malignaggi has it all and should shock the many watching. Hatton has a tough fight here. Paul, London

I think Ricky Hatton will be in a tough fight on Saturday versus Paulie Malignaggi. There are no easy fights in America. However, having watched Malignaggi in his fight in the UK, the only thing that sticks in the mind was having his hair lopped off mid fight. Ken, Oldham

Ricky Hatton is in for a very tough fight. I think he's going to lose and I'm that sure I've had £25 on Malignaggi to win. Carl, Salford

Re: Khan. Excuses? India are past masters at throwing their toys out of the pram and going home. Remember Gavaskar, the Bucknor incident and Harbhajan? IK, Bolton

Re: Mary, North Yorks. Firstly Murray is a Scot and proud of it, not American anything. Second he can buy a house where he wants, he doesn't need permission. Jack, Broxburn

Re: Matt, Lancashire. Paulie Malignaggi was not unlucky to lose on points against Cotto. He fought valiantly but took a beating. If you have actually seen the fight yourself then heaven knows what you were watching. I'm predicting a points win for Malinaggi against Hatton. Martin, Dagenham

Re: Mary, North Yorks. Andy Murray is based in London but trains in Florida in the winter. Unlike Lewis Hamilton he is not a tax exile. Michael, Harrogate

Re: Mark, Glasgow. The other three had already achieved everything in their 20s and early 30s unlike Calzaghe, beating up old men way past their best. Kevin, Glasgow

To look at the way England are playing at the moment is nothing like they were in 2003 when we won the Six Nations and the World Cup. We need the likes of the legends back and Jonny Wilkinson back from injury. But things can change if we play as a team. Martin, Doncaster

Re: Mary, North Yorks. Where Andy Murray chooses to live is a personal matter and is totally irrelevant to his status as one of the top-five tennis players, and I'm glad to read so much well deserved support for him on these pages. Aileen, Edinburgh

Joe couldn't KO an overrated Lacy and he hit him with every shot in the textbook, so to say he could have finished off Jones at anytime is absurd. Gavin, Dudley

Countdown to Hatton versus Malignaggi is now ticking. Credit to Hatton for getting rid of Billy Graham. He taught him to hit but also get hit - the nickname suits him both ways.

I can't wait to see the new Hatton, he has to be on him like a harbour shark from the start and knock him out. Can he do it? CY, Bristol

I read with interest John McEnroe's comments on the lack of personalities on the women's tour. I agree he has a point (excluding Jankovic and Safina) but I think the real issue here is that the WTA choose to market these women as sex symbols or fashionistas.

Until their marketing campaigns focus on the individuals and their personalities rather than what they look like this will always be the case. Darren, Pulborough

Re: Aileen: I have no particular love or hate for Murray and Hamilton, or their chosen sports, or where they choose to live. However this country has been heavily taxed for several centuries, and people have tried all means to avoid paying part or all of it. Anyone who puts their hand up to liking to pay income tax, the men in white coats should be brought in immediately. Ken, Oldham

I don't get Brits pulling against Calzaghe and Hatton. They are great fighters and deserve our support. Colin, Edinburgh

Not having a massive punch does not make you a poor champion - remember Ali? If Joe Calzaghe had a big punch, he'd be 60 fights unbeaten! Dom, Hull

Malignaggi is a quick, talented boxer, but he is no world beater. Ricky Hatton at his best would knock this guy out inside five rounds. The question is though, is Ricky at his best? Vic, London

Re: Gavin, Dudley: With the number of injuries Calzaghe has had to his hands, it is no wonder he has had to hold back on the big KO punches. But he does have the punching power. Richard, Merthyr

Re: Gavin, Dudley: To criticise Calzaghe for not knocking out Lacy is absurd. In an awesome performance against an unbeaten world champion, where he landed over a thousand shots, the only thing stopping a KO on the night was a proper ref's decision. J Macdonald, Uttoxeter
