KP - Test will go ahead

England captain Kevin Pietersen has insisted he is confident next week's Test in Chennai will go ahead.

The ECB rescheduled England's two-Test series in India following attacks in Mumbai last week which had forced the squad to leave the country.

Pietersen said: "We'll assess the situation on Sunday night but I'm very confident we'll have 15 lads who are going to play a Test match next week."

Pietersen shows support

Captain Kevin Pietersen believes it is important England return for their tour of India as a show of support after the recent attacks in Mumbai.

The England team will fly to Abu Dhabi on Thursday where they will train ahead of the rescheduled two-Test series due to begin in Chennai on December 11.

Pietersen said: "We are happy to show our support. We are very confident of playing a Test match."

Moores: England not ready

England coach Peter Moores has admitted his side lack preparation for this month's Test series against India.

The tour was halted after attacks in Mumbai, but the ECB decided the squad would fly to Abu Dhabi and await security checks ahead of the first Test in Chennai which starts next Thursday.

Moores told Radio Four: "Realistically the time is not long enough. Our preparations have been compromised."
