Blues net Bowyer on loan

West Ham midfielder Lee Bowyer has joined Birmingham on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 32-year-old ex-England, Charlton, Leeds and Newcastle player becomes Blues manager Alex McLeish's fifth signing of the January transfer window.

Bowyer has played just seven times for the Hammers this term, but McLeish said: "Lee's dynamic, and I want to bring a dynamic look back to the team."

Zola has 'untouchables'

West Ham's Craig Bellamy heads a list of "untouchables" that boss Gianfranco Zola is determined not to sell.

Bellamy and Scott Parker have already been the subject of a double-bid from Manchester City, while defender Matthew Upson is a potential target for clubs.

But Zola insisted: "I have some players I consider very important and the club knows that. We want to keep those players and Bellamy is one of them."
