Coppell stays at Reading
Steve Coppell has agreed to remain as Reading manager for the 2008-9 season.
The former Manchester City and Crystal Palace boss had been considering his job after demotion to the Championship on the final day of the season.
He said: "I'm very pleased to be staying. The reaction of the supporters had a bearing on my decision, as did my relationship with the chairman and everyone at the club."
Boss wants good memories
Steve Coppell will stay on as Reading manager because he does not want to be remembered as the man who got them relegated from the Premier League.
The Royals finished 18th to end their two-season stay in the top flight.
He said: "I want the chance to put it right. I'm very privileged, I've been here five years and I feel comfortable. I want to continue. When I do finish I want to do so on a better note."
