Owen omitted by Capello
Michael Owen has again been left out of Fabio Capello's England squad despite his recent prolific form for Newcastle.
Portsmouth strikers Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe are named in a 23-man party for the World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Belarus on October 11 and 15.
Manchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips has been recalled, but Paul Robinson and Joe Cole miss out through injury.
Terry calls for focus
Captain John Terry has cautioned against taking Kazakhstan and Belarus lightly ahead of England's World Cup qualifying double-header.
England are expected to add to their maximum six-point haul to date against the two unheralded sides.
Terry said: "It is difficult to face opponents you have never played before. It was a great performance against Croatia but we need to continue this."
