Seve 'stable' after op
Seve Ballesteros underwent 12 hours of surgery on Tuesday to remove a brain tumour and is "stable" in the intensive care unit of a Madrid hospital.
A biopsy on the tumour discovered last week after the 51-year-old Spaniard collapsed at Madrid Airport had been scheduled, but doctors decided to take immediate action and operate.
A hospital statement said he was "conscious and in a stable condition".
Webster - Seve's my hero
Steve Webster hailed Seve Ballesteros, as the English golfer prepared for his Portugal Masters defence.
Ballesteros is stable in hospital in Madrid after a 12-hour operation to remove a brain tumour.
Webster said: "Seve's my hero. Growing up, he was my favourite - and from the first time we played together, he always came to me and asked how I was doing or if I wanted a practice round."
