Scolari plays down link

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has distanced himself from reports that he will replace Sven-Goran Eriksson as Manchester City manager.

Scolari, who is gearing up to lead Portugal at Euro 2008 this summer, insists he is happy in his current role and has not agreed to join City.

He told broadcaster RTP: "Portugal offers me everthing I need. I have no agreement with that club."

Sven: City exit possible

Sven-Goran Eriksson has admitted for the first time "it is a possibility" that he could leave Manchester City.

The former England coach expects his future to be resolved by owner Thaksin Shinawatra after the final Premier League fixture at Middlesbrough.

Eriksson said: "It is a possibility, of course it is. It is not a secret to anyone in the world of football. But we will see, nothing is confirmed."

City fans plan Sven march

Manchester City supporters are to stage a march on Saturday outside the City of Manchester Stadium in support of manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Eriksson looks on his way out as owner Thaksin Shinawatra is dismayed at the club's progress this season, but many fan groups want Eriksson to stay.

Fanzine editor Dave Wallace said: "This is not anti-Thaksin, it is pro-Sven and will be a peaceful protest."
