Chambers set to fight ban

Dwain Chambers will challenge his lifetime ban from the Olympics in the High Court, according to his lawyer.

The sprinter will fight a BOA by-law which prevents drugs cheats from competing in the Olympics.

His lawyer Nick Collins said: "We can confirm that Dwain Chambers will be taking proceedings to secure his eligibility/participation in the Olympic and national trials."

Chambers talk 'positive'

Anti-doping chief John Scott has hailed a "positive" meeting with Dwain Chambers in which the athlete revealed the details of his drug taking.

Chambers arranged the meeting as part of his campaign to come clean and aid the fight against drug cheats.

Scott said: "He has provided a detailed account of his doping programme which highlights the level of sophistication in these systematic regimes."

Pavey faces stern test

Jo Pavey admits defending her Bupa Great Manchester Run title on Sunday promises to be a much tougher ordeal than winning it last year.

The 34-year-old will be up against former double Olympic champion Derartu Tulu and Athens marathon silver medallist Catherine Ndereba.

She said: "It is a strong field, which is a good test for me at this stage going into the summer."
