Sheridan out for England

England prop Andrew Sheridan has been ruled out of Saturday's international against South Africa after failing to recover from a neck injury.

Wasps prop Tim Payne has been promoted from outside the original match 22 to start at loosehead, with Matt Stevens remaining on the bench at Twickenham.

England's medical team decided Sheridan should not be risked but he is expected to be available to face New Zealand.

Wilko: England not a goal

Newcastle fly-half Jonny Wilkinson admits he is no longer motivated by a possible return to the England team.

Wilkinson, 29, was ruled out of England's autumn internationals after suffering a dislocated knee.

He told Radio Five Live: "The key is playing without fear and being the best I can be. If I'm being the best I can, there is nothing else. It's irrelevant being an England player or not."

Springboks make changes

South Africa coach Peter de Villiers has made two changes to the team which beat Scotland last weekend for Saturday's Test against England.

Jannie du Plessis has come into the front row in place of brother Bismarck, who injured a hamstring at Murrayfield.

Danie Rossouw will start at flanker for Juan Smith, who took a knock to the head and was advised not to play, while Bryan Habana has been passed fit.
