Hadden eyes Ireland draw

Scotland coach Frank Hadden wants his side to be in the same pool as Ireland at the 2011 World Cup.

Ireland's victory over Argentina means Scotland are ranked as third seeds for the New Zealand tournament, with the Irish remaining as second seeds.

Hadden said: "We hoped Argentina may do us a favour but it was not to be and perhaps we will have the good fortune to draw Ireland a week on Monday."

Cairns pleased by attack

Ben Cairns believes Scotland discovered a cutting edge in their 41-0 victory over Canada in the final autumn Test.

The Scotland centre's first try for his country was one of six which Frank Hadden's side ran in in sub-zero conditions at Aberdeen.

He said: "We messed up a few chances in the first half but the second half was a lot better and we finished off more of the line breaks we made."
