Call to back HBOS deal group
Scotland's First Minister has been challenged to give legal support to the group trying to halt the merger of West Yorkshire-based HBOS and Lloyds TSB.
The newly formed Merger Action Group is mounting a last-ditch legal bid to try to prevent the deal from going through.
The Liberal Democrats have called on Alex Salmond's Scottish government to provide the group with legal support.
