Villagers buy their own shop
A community has revealed it had defied the credit crunch and clubbed together to buy a village shop near Shepton Mallet threatened with closure.
Residents of Croscombe formed a 55-strong shareholders group to raise the money to purchase Bungalow Stores.
Louise Tully, from the parish council, said she was "overwhelmed" by the phenomenal community spirit shown.
