Plan to turn waste into power

Welsh Water has unveiled plans to build a £30m sewage treatment centre in Port Talbot which would transform the town's waste into electricity.

The centre would incorporate a combined heat and power plant which would feed electricity into the National Grid.

If given the go-ahead, the development would be built on land next to Welsh Water's Afan treatment works.
