Gloucestershire County Council has voted to give First Battalion - The Rifles special privileges in the area.

The Freedom of the County will allow soldiers to parade with their swords drawn, bayonets fixed, drums beating, bands playing and colours flying.

The council said it wanted to show support for the battalion's work, which included help during flooding.
