Schools boost house prices

Parents in Bristol will pay a premium for homes close to good state schools -even more than those in other areas, figures have shown.

Nationally the average home price rises by up to 3% for every 10% improvement in GCSE pass rates, a study for Halifax by Cranfield School of Management said.

But in Bristol homes near a school with an 80% GCSE pass rate sell for 12%.
