40 charged over insurance con

Police have charged 40 people over a £5.3m car insurance claims fraud which centred around Luton.

The alleged "cash for crash" conspirators are suspected of false insurance claims over staged crashes.

The charges, after dawn raids across three counties, are the result of a two year investigation by Bedfordshire Police and the Insurance Fraud Bureau.
