Council hit by property slump
The downturn in the property market is expected to leave Dumfries and Galloway Council £1.3m short of its annual sales target, according to a council report.
The authority had hoped to gain more than £2.7m from the sale of surplus land and buildings.
By the end of October deals worth £220,000 had been done, but it is hoped £1.4m extra could still be realised.
