Bid for ethical investing

A bid to stop the Merseyside council workers' pension fund investing in the arms trade has been launched.

Liverpool City Council has backed a resolution calling on the fund to ballot thousands of members over an "ethical approach" to investing.

But Wirral Council, which runs the fund, said excluding certain stocks would "create additional risk".
