Charities to bid or funding
North East charities and community groups have a month to bid for a share of £2.3m funding.
Voluntary organisations have until November 12 to apply for cash from HM Revenue & Customs to help vulnerable people reduce debt and claim benefits.
HMRC spokesman Derek Tilstone said: "Many vulnerable people don't claim benefits that they are entitled to."
