The two French students murdered on a placement in London have been described as popular young men who both had glittering careers ahead of them.

Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez, both 23, were stabbed to death in a New Cross flat which was then set on fire.

The head of their French university said the bio-engineers were "very good and very pleasant students".
