Child adoption figures rise

The number of children needing to be adopted in Norfolk has risen, new figures have shown.

Some 69 children were referred for adoption in the county between April 2007 and March 2008, compared with 56 in the previous 12 months.

The number of Norfolk children matched and placed for adoption also rose, from 44 to 53 over the same period.
