Hard work on Piscean's stalls behaviour paid off as the 11/2 chance led inside the final furlong before beating Mambo Spirit by 1l in the 5f handicap.
Newmarket-based trainer Tom Keddy said: "He has always had a problem with the stalls but we have done a lot of work.
"He has got a good future sprinting and will win the Portland Handicap next year! It is a race I have had on my mind for a long time."
