King looking to reign
Tom Taaffe is hoping Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Kicking King can get back on track at Punchestown tomorrow.
The 10yo was placed on two of his three starts last season but he only made it as far as the third fence on his reappearance at Gowran Park.
Taaffe said: "He seems in great form and I just want him to get himself back on track. He is fit enough and I just want him to run a proper race."
Plenty of options
Tom Taaffe has several options for Kicking King after his run in the Grade 3 chase at Punchestown tomorrow.
The handler said: "He has plenty of options for his next race. There is the James Nicholson Chase at Down Royal (November 1) and he qualifies for a race at Thurles on November 6.
"We'll think about the John Durkan Chase (December 7) as well so there are plenty of races around for him."
Attrition ready for war
Cheltenham Gold Cup hero War Of Attrition is set make his first start since December 2006 when he tackles Kicking King at Punchestown tomorrow.
Trainer Mouse Morris said: "There are just the four runners but I'm not sure whether that's a good thing as we wouldn't want to make the running.
"He has been off the track for a long time and if he finishes in the first four I'd be happy!"
Lad set for fencing bow
Trafford Lad embarks on his new career over fences in the Grade 3 Buck House Novice Chase at Punchestown tomorrow.
A Grade 1 winner over hurdles, Dusty Sheehy's charge was placed on his next three starts, including at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals.
Sheehy said: "The horse is in great form and I couldn't be any happier with him. He has done plenty of schooling and we're looking forward to it."
