UK pair killed in avalanche

A pair of British musicians who died in an avalanche in France have been described as a most "generous" couple by neighbours.

Michael and Dorothy Hall, both 53 and from Didsbury, Manchester, lost their lives while walking in the Pyrenees.

They died after being knocked off a path when a snow shelf fell on them. Neighbour Michael Denton said: "You could not wish to meet nicer people."
