Police warning on drink laws
Changes to licensing laws aimed at creating a "cafe culture" have turned some market towns into the "wild west", the Police Federation warned.
The 24-hour drinking laws have pushed booze-fuelled violence into the early hours and stretched police resources, vice-chairman Simon Reed said.
He told the Commons culture, media and sport committee that market towns have suffered most from the Licensing Act.
