PM 'will lead through crisis'
Gordon Brown has insisted he is determined to lead Britain through the current economic downturn.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the country is going through difficult times, but he insisted the UK is well placed to withstand economic problems.
This followed a warning by the British Chambers of Commerce that the economy is at risk of recession, and the FTSE 100 closing 72 points lower at 5440.
