Man charged over carer death

A 51-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a care worker who was stabbed to death on a home visit.

Father-of-three and Lancashire County Council social worker Philip Ellison, 47, was knifed repeatedly at a house in Glebe Close in Preston on April 7.

Robert Searle, from Fulwood, Preston, has been charged by detectives and will appear at Preston Magistrates' Court on Friday morning.
