Poll finds alcohol ignorance

A campaign has been launched to make people more aware of how much they are drinking after a poll found widespread ignorance over units of alcohol.

A poll found 77% of people do not know how many units are in a large glass of wine and 35% are unaware of the alcohol content of an average pint of beer.

The Department of Health is spending £6m on poster, TV and radio adverts to give drinkers the correct information.
