1.7m details on MoD disc
A computer hard drive reported missing by an IT firm contracted to the MoD may have contained personal information on 1.7 million people, MPs have been told.
Armed forces minister Bob Ainsworth said information on the drive, which went missing at the EDS site in Hants, was "unlikely" to have been encrypted.
He said the disk drive contained details of people who had enquired about joining the armed forces.
