Bill Clinton endorses Obama

Former US president Bill Clinton has forcefully endorsed Barack Obama's bid for the White House.

He told delegates at the Democratic convention that Mr Obama is "ready to lead America and restore American leadership in the world".

"With running mate Joe Biden's support and Barack's good instincts, America will have the national security leadership we need," Mr Clinton said.
