Ruling due on Gurkha appeal

Gurkhas fighting for the right to settle in Britain will learn whether their immigration test case at the High Court has been successful.

They are challenging the Government policy that 2,000 Gurkhas who retired prior to July 1997 do not have the necessary "strong ties" to allow entry.

Mr Justice Blake will hand down his judgment at the High Court, in a case backed by actress Joanna Lumley.
