Long route for walker rescue
A walker who collapsed in the Highlands was rescued after a distress beacon was picked up 4,000 miles away in Texas.
The Danish man became ill 15 miles south of Fort William, and pressed the emergency button on a handset, triggering a text message in Houston.
In the first UK use of the system, US officials alerted police in Fort William, and RAF Kinloss sent a Royal Navy helicopter from Prestwick.
