Stormont raider awaits fate

A notorious loyalist killer who tried to kill senior Sinn Fein members in a one-man attack on the Northern Ireland Assembly is due to be sentenced.

Michael Stone, 53, will hear his fate after being found guilty of attempting to murder Martin McGuinness and Gerry Adams in an armed raid at Stormont.

The former UDA member, who killed three mourners at a 1988 IRA funeral in west Belfast, will face Belfast Crown Court.
