Home repossessions delay

Borrowers who fail to keep up with their mortgage repayments will be given a six-month breathing space by the Royal Bank of Scotland.

RBS is expected to announce it will not repossess from customers for six months from the date they first admit that they have a problem.

It comes just days after the Government bought 58% of RBS's shares, effectively bringing it under state control.
