British rescuers on stand-by
Rescuers in the UK are on stand-by to join international teams hoping to fly into the earthquake-hit areas of China.
The International Rescue Corps said five volunteers - three from Scotland, one from Norfolk and one from Cumbria -are ready to go into the country.
A spokeswoman said they are on stand-by to join volunteers from the US and Canada, and will take equipment such as cameras that are lowered into rubble.
