Madonna and Ritchie to split
Pop star Madonna and film director Guy Ritchie have confirmed that they are to divorce.
Madonna's spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg said the couple had agreed to divorce and they hope to agree a settlement without going through the courts.
Ritchie, 40, married Madonna seven years ago at a lavish ceremony in Scotland but there had been rumours their relationship was under strain.
