Call for clarity on exams

Ed Balls has said that the Government's new diplomas could eventually replace the traditional exams as "the qualification of choice" for teenagers.
He wants diplomas and A-levels to compete for pupils ahead of a review of qualifications in 2013 but the schools committee called for "clarity" now.
