F1: Spa spin for Raikkonen

Kimi Raikkonen's recent run of problems has continued ahead of this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa.

Raikkonen's Ferrari engine blew during the European GP in Valencia, and the Finn slid into a tyre wall with 33 minutes left of second practice.

Raikkonen was still fifth despite the accident, while Renault's Fernando Alonso was fastest in 1min 48.454sec, with Felipe Massa just 0.050sec down.

Hamilton hopes for rain

Lewis Hamilton is ready to retain his unofficial crown as Formula One's wet-weather king.

The McLaren star has conquered the wet on the last three occasions an F1 race has been run under such conditions and hopes to continue that form should rain prevail at Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix.

Hamilton said: "If it is wet, I'll look forward to it. We were strong in Monaco and Silverstone, so I don't mind."

Massa wants Kimi support

Felipe Massa is expecting payback from Kimi Raikkonen should he be in a position to win the F1 world title.

After helping Raikkonen win his maiden championship last season, Massa, who trails Lewis Hamilton by six points ahead of the Belgium GP, thinks his Ferrari team-mate should reply in kind.

The Brazilian said: "I did it last year, and if it is necessary, he should help. That is part of our job."

Kimi happy to help team

Kimi Raikkonen has revealed he will offer to help Felipe Massa in the world title race should the need arise.

Raikkonen is currently 13 points adrift of Lewis Hamilton and seven behind Massa, with a third of the season left.

He said: "It all depends on how the next few races go and where we are at the end of the year, but we race as a team. We will see. Hopefully we won't end up in that situation."
