F1: Alonso takes Fuji victory
Fernando Alonso took his second win on the trot as title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa clashed in Fuji.
The Spaniard took advantage of a chaotic start which culminated in Massa spinning Hamilton round on lap two, with both men being handed penalties.
Alonso overtook Robert Kubica, who finished second, at his first pit stop and was never troubled while Massa recovered to secure two vital points.
Points blow for Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton's lead in the battle for the world title was cut to five points by the promotion to seventh place in Japan of rival Felipe Massa.
The Brazilian profited from stewards hitting Sebastien Bourdais with a 25-second penalty for causing a collision with Massa late in the race.
Bourdais dropped from sixth to 10th, with Massa then picking up two points from the grand prix at Fuji Speedway.
