F1: Hamilton admits mistake
Lewis Hamilton admitted his aggressive approach to the first few corners of the Japanese Grand Prix was risky.
The Briton was involved in a clash with title rival Felipe Massa and was handed a penalty for running Kimi Raikkonen off the road at the first corner. He eventually finished a distant 12th.
Hamilton said: "It was a bad day. I went wide at turn one. It was a mistake, then Felipe hit me off."
Alonso elated by success
Fernando Alonso was elated after taking his second-straight win in the Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji.
The Renault ace took advantage of a frenetic first few laps to move up to second place before moving past Robert Kubica to take victory.
The Spaniard said: "The win in Singapore was completely unexpected and now we have won again here. It is difficult to believe."
Don't blame me - Massa
Felipe Massa insisted he was not at fault for the "racing incident" in which he clashed with Lewis Hamilton during the Japanese Grand Prix.
Both of the world title rivals were handed penalties for the parts they played in the coming-together.
Massa said: "I put two wheels on the gravel and he closed in and we touched. I was already on the gravel so I couldn't do anything and we touched."
Crash upsetting for DC
Scot David Coulthard admitted it was "disappointing" to crash out of the Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji.
The veteran Red Bull ace, who started 11th, got trapped between Sebastien Bourdais and Nelson Piquet Jr.
Coulthard said: "There was a little bit of bumping and grinding. As I accelerated out of turn two, whatever damage was done in the apex of turn one let go and the car had a tank slapper."
Impossible job - Button
Jenson Button admitted his tyre options cost him at the Japanese Grand Prix.
The Frome-born Honda driver revealed "graining on the front and rear tyres" meant he was slow through the corners and uncompetitive on straightline speed during the early segment of the race.
Button said: "Once we put the prime tyre on for the second stint the balance was much better but, by then, it was impossible to catch up."
