Four-time Walker Cup ace Nigel Edwards has been named in a 16-strong Great Britain & Ireland squad for the St Andrews Trophy on August 29-30.

The R&A selectors have also opted for younger talent as they plan to face the Continent of Europe at Kingsbarns.

GB&I captain Colin Dalgleish said: "We hope this squad will provide the foundation of both our 2008 St Andrews Trophy team and 2009 Walker Cup team."
