Pair lead Madrid field

Australia's Marcus Fraser and South Africa's Charl Schwartzel share the lead after the second round of the Madrid Masters.

Schwartzel shot five birdies and an eagle in his seven-under-par 64, while Fraser hit eight birdies and three bogeys in his 66.

Robert Rock leads the British charge, his round of 65 putting him joint third with Sweden's Steven Jeppesen.

Charl battles illness

Charl Schwartzel hit a flawless seven- under-par 64 to take a share of the lead at the Madrid Masters, despite considering withdrawing from the event.

The South African admitted he is being troubled by a shoulder injury and is taking antibiotics for his illness.

He said: "I've had a sore shoulder and I've been sick for a while. I'm taking antibiotics and don't feel that strong. I was going to withdraw."
