Strange stays in control

Australian Scott Strange remains in control of the Wales Open with a day to go at Celtic Manor.

Strange has led since an opening 63 and is now three ahead of Alvaro Velasco after a third-round 69 which featured birdies at three of the par fives.

Nick Dougherty is one of four English players tied for sixth after a 67, but Scot Colin Montgomerie struggled and dropped out of contention with a 73.

Strange feeling for Scott

Scott Strange was relieved not to collapse as he retained the lead in the Wales Open throughout the third round.

The 31-year-old managed a two-under-par 69 and saw his advantage cut to three, but it was a dizzy spell that was foremost in his mind after he finished.

Strange said: "I felt funny down the 14th and when I got on the 15th tee. I felt I was going to fall over and throw up. I'll have a chat with the physios."
